Scotty Darroch has completed his incredible challenge of walking the 96 miles (154km) of the world-famous West Highland Way in Scotland with a washing machine strapped to his back.
Scotty was taking on this challenge to continue his recovery through sport and adventurous challenge and to raise funds for the Invictus Games Foundation, an organisation that he wishes to give back to after the help he received competing at the Invictus Games and beyond.
The fundraiser for this challenge has more than doubled it's target of £5,000, reaching an astonishing £11,200 and is still open to the public for donations here.
"I had to dig deep and use all my mental strength to finish this momentous challenge," Scotty said after completing this unique hike.
In total it took Scotty an incredible 273,662 steps to complete the challenge that started in Milngavie near Glasgow and finished at Fort William in the Highlands, traversing lochs, moors, and mountains.
Scotty garnered a lot of interest from the local community and enthusiastic hikers who came across the site of a washing machine walking through the iconic Scottish Highlands, Scotty engaged with as many people as he could, sharing his story of recovery through sport and the mission of the Invictus Games Foundation.
Scotty was supported by Level Peaks on this challenge, a veteran founded, owned and managed business that specialises in providing apparel and tactical equipment.

Scotty was a member of Team UK at the Invictus Games Orlando 2016 and Toronto 2017 and is an active member of the We Are Invictus Community, having taken part in an Invictus Adventure to summit a mountain in Colorado in 2023.
Scotty was a teammate of Gus Hurst at the Invictus Games in 2016 and 2017, who decided to come to Scotland to surprise Scotty during his trek and walk section of the hike with him.
"He is truly a remarkable man," Gus said.
"I count myself fortunate that our lives have crossed although sadly due to injury and sickness but thanks to the Invictus Games Foundation this has reversed a negative into a life changing positive. So thank you all at the Invictus Games Foundation and thank you Scotty," Gus said.
