Lithuania, who joined the Invictus Community of Nations in November 2024, recently hosted Wounded Warriors Week, supporting their wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans through sports. Hosted from September 19th to 28th 2025, the 7th annual “Wounded Warriors Week featured a wide range of rehabilitation programs, including wellness treatments, physical activities, and psychological support sessions.
“Wounded Warriors Week” goes far beyond medical rehabilitation. It focuses on building a strong, empathetic community where every soldier feels appreciated, supported, and valued. The project plays a crucial role in the broader reintegration process, helping participants regain strength, rebuild confidence, and find inner peace following trauma, injury, or illness.
Each year, an increasing number of newly injured soldiers join the program, making the continuity of this initiative a priority for our entire community. For many, it offers a unique opportunity to share experiences, regain motivation, and reconnect with life beyond service.
Throughout the years, the wounded warrior community evolved from a support network to the kind of family. A family where everyone is equal, everyone matters, and everyone is welcome. Participants are drawn together with the shared belief that strength comes from unity, from speaking up, from listening, and from being there for one another.
The “Wounded Warrior Foundation” of the Lithuanian Armed Forces is proud to be main organiser of this impactful initiative for the second consecutive year and honored that “Wounded Warriors Week” has now become a firmly established annual event.
The event was held in the spirit of the Invictus Games. Part of the wounded warriors participating in the week were veterans of the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025. Mindaugas Kolbinas, main organizer of the “Wounded Warriors Week”, emphasised that he got inspiration, drew ideas and applied the knowledge acquired through participation in the Invictus Games.
The entire wounded warrior community, are grateful for the patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda. This meaningful project would also not be possible without the steadfast support and the leadership of the Vice Minister of Defense Tomas Godliauskas and the Chief of Defence of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, General Raimundas Vaikšnoras.
The event was also supported by the number of the Lithuanian business companies and organizations that contribute - whether financially or by providing essential equipment and resources. Lithuania’s Invictus Games delegation is proud to share the spirit of resilience, unity, and healing that defines “Wounded Warriors Week,” in solidarity with the global community of wounded, injured, and sick service members.
