Our exploratory visit to African nations continues, as our delegation from the Invictus Games Foundation is now in Ghana where we have received a warm and positive welcome in Accra and have been greatly enthused by Minister of Defence Edward Kofi Omane Boamah’s support of our work to date.

This visit so far has included the team meeting with the Veterans Administration, Ghana; 37 Military Hospital; senior figures at the British High Commission, influential business leaders & potential corporate partners; the UK Ghana Chamber of Commerce and a 100 year old World War II veteran.

Every conversation and stakeholder meeting we’ve had so far has really strengthened our understanding of the potential for sports recovery to enhance the existing recovery pathway here in Ghana and catalyse the rehabilitation of those that have become wounded, injured or sick serving in the Armed Forces.”

Helen D’Oyley

Chief Growth Officer at the Invictus Games Foundation

The visit to Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana, supported by Africa Unconquered, so far has helped the Invictus Games Foundation better understand the requirement and appetite for sport recovery across new nations building on the success of Nigeria’s participation in the programmes offered by the Foundation such as the Invictus Games.
